Soul Therapy Music - The Doctor’s House
Soul Therapy Music returns on March 28 with a curated night at The Doctor’s House, a historic beachfront venue with an intimate garden setting for soulful, groove-led dancefloor sounds rooted in deep house and disco traditions.
Headlining the night is London-based selector Ruby Savage, who relocated from Amsterdam to London in 2007 and spent over a decade working behind the counter at Honest Jon’s Record store, developing a deep knowledge of soul, jazz, disco, dub, and house. She managed Theo Parrish’s Sounds Signature label (2011–2015), stewarded Gilles Peterson’s Brownswood Recordings in 2016, and joined Worldwide FM’s early roster of radio hosts. Since 2017, she has presented her Radiant Life show on NTS Radio and hosts a monthly segment on Tokyo’s J-Wave 81.3 FM. Savage has performed at Corsica Studios, Koko Electronic, Phonox, Djoon, Panorama Bar, La Paloma, Doka, Kaiku, Basic Club, and Brazil and Oceania festival seasons, including Giles Peterson’s We Out Here Festival. In 2024 she held a month-long residency at NT Loft and made her Glastonbury festival debut at the San Remo stage.
She is joined by Kevin Fernando, a London-bred DJ shaped by the 1990s underground house scene and now based in Sri Lanka, who continues to develop Soul Therapy Music as a platform bridging global house traditions with the region’s growing underground scene.
The night also celebrates Soul Therapy Music’s latest compilation album, curated by Kevin Fernando and Jarvis, out this March, showcasing deep, jazzy, soulful, and classic 90’s house grooves.
Supporting the lineup are:
- Jarvis, a London-born selector lighting up Sri Lanka with deep, soulful grooves.
- Mango Boom, a Sri Lanka-based DJ blending disco, soulful house, and deep cuts, co-founder of Funkyard and Young Mango
And SadBoi Sam, resident warm-up DJ at The Doctor’s House.
