A concert that was meant to be her next musical celebration — but became a tribute to a legend.
“Kele Handa Rukmani Swarna Gee” revives the music of Rukmani Devi, the legendary actress, singer and first female superstar of Sri Lankan cinema, whose extraordinary voice and timeless artistry left an everlasting mark on generations.
This concert carries a special place in Sri Lankan musical history. It was originally scheduled to be performed by Rukmani Devi herself, but sadly, she passed away before that long-awaited performance could take place.
Decades later, her unfinished musical journey is brought back to the stage as a heartfelt tribute to the woman who helped shape the golden era of Sri Lankan music and cinema.
